From the water we drink to the water we bath in, water is necessary to maintain good health. Certainly everyone is already aware of this, but what most people don’t realize is that much of the water we are using is not good for us; and in many instances it can even be detrimental to our health. When we don't consume enough water, we can begin to develop certain illnesses and even accelerate our aging processes.
You might be asking yourself, what is the Water Truth? We have designed this section to help you discover the answer to that question for yourself. Why not take a few moments to learn what those of us at Dream Tree already know, take a few minutes to discover the Water Truth.
For many years tap water was the only source for drinking water, but ground water contamination has created the need for chlorination and purification processes, even with these measures, "pollution in tap water" has affected more than one hundred million people. In December of 2009, The New York Times reported that in MIAMI — A new boutique hotel relocated all its guests after health officials determined that a water filter removed too much chlorine, possibly allowing the spread of a rare bacteria that killed one former guest and made at least two others sick. Is this the kind of water you want for your family? According to Dr. Joseph M. Price, MD, in Moseby's Medical Dictionary, "Chlorine is the greatest crippler and killer of modern times. It is an insidious poison". So much for tap water.
Many people believe that the water we get from coffee, sodas, and energy drinks will be sufficient for the human body to function on optimal levels; but that is incorrect. Simply stated, the water from these beverages is nothing but poor quality distilled water. If you’re like most people you probably buy your fair share of bottle water.
Consumption of bottled water in the United States has more than doubled in the last ten years, from 13.5 gallons per person in 1997 to 29.3 gallons per person in 2007. Bottled water is now second only to carbonated soft drinks in annual sales, with 9.4 billion gallons estimated to be sold in 2008. Americans will spend more than $13 billion on bottled water in 2009 but are the receiving the value they are expecting?
It is not just the amount of water that we drink that keeps us healthy, it’s about the ‘quality’ of water we drink.
The reverse osmosis process can only remove particles of larger dimensions than water molecules. Another “potentially larger problem” is created because reverse osmosis works too well! Not only does it remove the contaminants, it also filters out essential minerals present in water, thus removing the “good with the bad”
75 % of Americans are chronically dehydrated. 37% of Americans mistake dehydration for hunger. They eat when they should drink. For optimum hydration you should drink a number of fluid ounces equal to half your body weight and not “eight glasses per day”. For example, a 200-pound man should drink 100 ounces per day. Coffee, tea, and many soft drinks contain large amounts of caffeine. Drinking caffeinated beverages do not hydrate the body; in fact they help dehydrate the body.
To make matters worse, most water we consume today is acidic and will not absorb into the body properly, adding to the dehydration dilemma. Is Dehydration really a problem? You bet! Dehydration slows down your metabolism witch leads to weight retention. As we like to say “Hydrate to Lose Weight!"
It’s widely believed that the water we now consume from commercial filtering machines and bottled water companies is “good” for us. In America alone we spend more than $12 billion dollars annually on bottled water. Countless tests and facts repeatedly show that water treated with distillation and reverse osmosis “take the good out with the bad”, leaving us with Acidic/Dead Water.
You might be asking yourself, what’s the big deal? It has now been scientifically proven that the balance of health in our body is directly related to the pH levels of the water and blood circulating inside all of us. More simply put, a body that is Acidic is a breeding ground for disease.
This is something no-one wants to hear, if you’re like most, you love your morning shower and steaming up the bathroom.
Here is a statement that might surprise you. "Taking showers is a health risk”, this is according to research presented in a meeting of the American Chemical Society.
When CHLORINATED WATER IS USED, bathing may be much less healthy that we ever supposed. Chlorine is a toxic chemical. It is used in water treatment to reduce and kill forms of biological agents, such as bacteria and viruses found in water systems.
