Edmund Chun – Founder
Edmund Chun is a perfect example of the American Dream being fulfilled. Edmund came to the United States from his home country of South Korea in 1983 and began his new life in San Antonio Texas.
It didn’t take him long to find success and with hard work and perseverance in 1986 he became the head chef at the largest Japanese Restaurant in San Antonio. Although he was working more than 60 hours a week at the restaurant in 1990 he opened a small flea market business in his “spare time”. That was the beginning of the real success story for Edmund Chun. After more than a year of cooking during the week and retailing on the weekends, that little part time business that he started for less than $1000.00 turned into a full time endeavor. Edmund said goodbye to the restaurant business and hello to retail world, he began his quest to overtake Walmart and become the largest retailer in the world.
He and his wife Jeanie moved to McAllen, Texas permanently in1993 and by 2002 he successfully owned and operated a total of 45 General Merchandise locations. He serviced them out of a 127,000 sq footwarehouse on 20 acres in McAllen, Texas where they still live today. His dream of becoming the largest retailer in the world was put on hold when his wife Jeanie contracted a serious health challenge.
What began as a search for a solution to Jeanie’s very serious health challenge resulted in the formulation of Dream Tree in 2002, when Edmund became passionate about good, healthy water! For the past seven years Edmund has learned everything he could about water and its incredible value to the body. After realizing the potential impact these products could have on people, he began to systematically sell off his retail businesses to focus his attention on the massive undertaking of delivering the Dream Tree Products to the world.
“We are all 70% water and we must have the best water for our families” is a phrase you will hear repeatedly from Edmund Chun, his vision vast for the Dream Tree Opportunity, his goal now is to Change the World.
